M3COM announces official designation as a Premier VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) in the new Broadcom Advantage Partner Program.
Ashburn, Virginia— M3COM, a premier provider of custom-tailored telecom and cloud solutions, today announced its sponsorship of Blake Barnett, a competitive drift racing athlete representing Hellbent4Drifting and competing in the U.S. Drift Circuit of the Formula Drift ProAm series.
M3COM will serve as Blake’s first official sponsor, with the company’s logo appearing on his racing suit and his competition vehicle.
Our support of the Barnett family— a family defined by remarkable integrity and perseverance— is a natural extension of the company’s sponsorship philosophy, from the fairways to the track.
The adversity that has challenged Blake’s path to professional drifting would have sent many people home, but passion, determination, and the support of his family have made his story one worth telling.
Blake began his motorsport career in 2018 at the age of 12, competing in professional go-karting at some of the most storied venues in American racing, including Daytona International Speedway—where he reached speeds of 98 mph—and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
In 2020, chronic health issues, compounded by the disruptions of the global pandemic, forced him away from competition. It was during that period that Blake discovered competitive drifting.
Competitive drifting is a motorsport in which drivers deliberately slide their vehicles through corners at high speed while maintaining exact control of angle, line, and momentum. Unlike traditional circuit racing, which measures performance by time alone, drifting is adjudicated on precision, style, and execution.
What followed was a self-directed education in a demanding craft. Blake attended the Texas Drift Academy to develop foundational skills, then traveled to Japan to train at the Ebisu Circuit under Formula Drift Japan Champion Kanta. He expanded his experience to include ice drifting in Minnesota. With no prior mechanical background, Blake and his family built their own competition vehicles, a discipline unto itself. Subsequent hospitalizations tested his resolve but did not interrupt it.
Last year, Blake committed to a full competition season with Lone Star Drift in Texas. Competing against fields of approximately 30 drivers, many of them veterans with a decade of experience on those same circuits. Blake achieved a 9th-place finish by season’s end.
It was an extraordinary result for a competitor in his first full season, operating under the additional demands of extensive travel and the beginning of his college studies in High Performance Motorsports at the University of Northwestern Ohio.
This year, Blake competes in the U.S. Drift Circuit for a license into the ProSpec series of Formula Drift ProAm. A top-three finish there would make him eligible to compete professionally.
M3COM's support to me and family is beyond helpful. Partnering with M3COM is an alignment of values, commitment, consistency, and long-term growth. Their support allows me to focus fully on performing at the highest level in 2026. My approach to the 2026 USDC season is to always remember that while it’s a competition, it’s also important to enjoy the process and have fun doing what I love. With M3COM's help I am driven by passion, grounded by family, and focused on the journey ahead.
M3COM’s investment in Blake reflects the same philosophy that has guided the company’s long-standing partnerships with PGA Tour champions Harris English and Chris Kirk— two athletes whose careers have also been shaped by adversity overcome and excellence pursued without compromise.
As opposed to a perfect record or boastful personality, M3COM looks for an unimpeachable character when sponsoring a leader: individuals for whom setback is not a conclusion but a condition to be met and surpassed.
That same principle governs how M3COM serves its customers. The company does not offer generic infrastructure solutions; it builds relationships defined by close partnership, integrity, and a commitment to performance that does not waver when conditions become difficult.
In Blake Barnett—an athlete who built his own race cars, crossed the globe to learn from a world champion, and returned from illness more determined than before—M3COM sees a reflection of those values in motion.
As Muhammad Ali once observed of human potential: “Impossible is nothing.” It is a conviction M3COM has long held and one Blake Barnett has spent his young career proving.
